Two aerobars are featured here. First the Zipp SL Carbon Handlebar, which only weighs 160g and is a reinvention of just about everything a handlebar could be after lengthy research and development, with the use of carbon laminate. Its stiff and strong, with dual cable routing grooves, constant taper flats that transition from 31.8mm diameter at the stem clamp to 24.2mm diameter at the bends. This makes a very comfortable shape in your hands. There are also grip sections for mounting steerer and brake levers, but it cannot be used with tri bars. Drop is 150mm and reach is 90mm.
Then there is the Zipp SLC2 Carbon Handlebar, which is an incredibly stiff handlebar for the most powerful riders. Its clip-on compatible and weighs just 190g. Nearly 60% of the bar width is kept at the same 31.8mm diameter as the stem clamp. The carbon laminate is designed to add strength around the clamp to handle clip-on extensions and stiffness to handle sprinting loads.
However, ride quality is still good as Zipp have used vibration absorbing technology. This bar is great for an ITU legal drop bar/clip-on setup or for a sprinter setup. Its the only Zipp drop bar that can be used with clip on extensions, so you can use any of the Vuka extensions. Sizes: 40, 42, 44, 46mm. Weight is 190g (42mm), clamp diameter: 31.8mm. Drops available are Ergo Bend (EB), Traditional Bend, Short-Shallow Bend.
