Recipe for Brownies

Rich brownies for cycling energy

These are full of calories, are quite concentrated and a bit sticky, so you won't lose half of them as you're cycling along - except to other cyclists who may well be able to smell the chocolatiness from miles away.

Recipe

1oz plain chocolate
1oz milk chocolate
4oz butter
2oz plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 beaten eggs
8oz granulated sugar
pinch of salt
4oz chopped nuts (we like hazelnuts and walnuts)

Heat the oven to gas 4 180C.

Instructions

Melt butter and chocolate eg. in bowl over simmering water and take off heat.

Mix all the other ingredients in.

Spread it into the tin.
Bake for 30 mins.

Leave to cool in the tin, then turn out and chop up.

Keep away from greedy children. Tell them its a crucial part of your sports diet (it is, isn't it?).
